Golf in Zambia

A tale of courage and determination

The Unlikely Beginning

Imagine a young boy in Zambia, surrounded by arid landscapes and copper mines. His name was Vincent Kabaso, and he became the first PGA professional from Zambia. Vincent’s journey began when someone gave his father golf clubs. While his siblings weren’t interested, Vincent was hooked. He practiced tirelessly at the Roan Antelope Golf Club, a different world from the usual childhood pursuits of hunting mice or fishing barehanded. 🏌️‍♂️🌿

Vincent’s passion led him to write over 500 letters to the British PGA, hoping for a chance to play golf internationally. Miraculously, one letter found its way to the right hands. The British PGA recommended him for an educational grant, and Vincent ended up at Bridgwater College in England. With determination and support, he pursued his dream. 🌟
